We're seeking experienced Project Engineers to join a dynamic team delivering critical infrastructure projects across a major rail network. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, working across electrical, civil, construction, and asset disciplines to support the safe and efficient delivery of rail projects from planning through to completion.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, working across electrical, civil, construction, and asset disciplines to support the safe and efficient delivery of rail projects from planning through to completion.
Benefits:
- 18 month initial contract with possibility of extension
- Circa $700 - $800 day rate
- Hybrid working options
As Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary rail projects, working closely with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You'll also work across existing rail assets, supporting renewal, upgrade, and maintenance activities alongside new project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support and oversight across electrical, civil, construction, and asset workstreams on rail infrastructure projects
- Review and coordinate design documentation, drawings, and technical specifications
- Support asset renewal, upgrade, and maintenance planning across rail infrastructure assets
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to manage project delivery
- Monitor site works to ensure compliance with engineering standards, rail safety requirements, and relevant codes
- Contribute to asset condition assessments and lifecycle planning to inform project scoping
- Support the preparation of scopes of work, technical reports, and project documentation
- Identify and manage technical risks, resolving issues that arise during design and construction phases
- Assist with cost estimation, scheduling, and progress reporting
- Ensure works comply with WHS, environmental, and rail industry regulations
- Qualified in Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects within the rail sector (desirable) or broader infrastructure/construction environment
- Experience working with asset management systems and/or asset lifecycle planning highly regarded
- Working knowledge of rail safety standards and relevant Australian codes
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects
- Rail industry worker (RIW) accreditation or willingness to obtain
- Current driver's licence
