Employment Law/Employee Relations Expert (m/f)


The purpose of this role is to advise, counsel and serve as a subject matter expert on all employee relations issues including employment law, investigations, violations of policy, progressive discipline, involuntary terminations, interpretation and administration of HR policies/procedures - for mainland Europe, in particular Luxembourg and Switzerland.

The Employment Law/Employee Relations Expert holds the following responsibilities:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in providing strategic and tactical advice to HR, Employee relations colleagues and business managers on all employee relations, employment law and company policy issues.
  • Reviews and develops employment related agreements and HR policies and procedures (in conjunction with the policy lead) to meet the needs of the organisation, respond to changing legislation, and facilitate the adoption of best practices.
  • Investigates on employee complaints in line with company and legal requirements.
  • Interprets and implements in an accurate and consistent manner local, regional and global employment policies and local laws and regulations.
  • Project manages employee litigation in partnership with HR partners and external counsels.
  • Partners with EMEA and global employee relation Partners to undertake and support employee relations programs and initiatives as well as ad hoc projects.
  • Where appropriate and in conjunction with local HR, provides support to any employee representative forums.


  • Holds a degree in Law, with a specialisation in employment law.
  • Has at least 5 years of professional experience acting as a subject matter expert for Luxembourg and EU employment law and HR best practices.
  • Is fluent in English and French.
  • Develops a proactive approach in identifying and managing employment related risks throughout the organisation.
  • Possesses the ability to analyse complex employment situations and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Is able to collaborate in a genuinely multi-disciplinary and multi-national organisation.
  • Is an open communicator with strong influencing skills.
  • Can work independently with remote management in a matrixed environment.
