We have been exclusively engaged to conduct a search for a Head of Risk Management/Conducting Officer on behalf of a leading third-party management company backed by an esteemed financial institution.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and member of the Executive Committe you will manage a team of 4 risk specialists.
The key objectives of the role are:
To ensure that all risks related to fund under management (AIFS & UCITS) are captured and monitored in line with regulation;
To carry the responsibility of the correct valuation of underlying assets of funds under management;
The responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Manco as a legally appointed representative between the CSSF and the Company.
New client approval: direct involvement in the due diligence of the pre on-boarding through the identification of the specific risks and definition of appetite to risks;
Ensures that all risk and investment limits are monitored at least at NAV frequency in accordance with all applicable regulations (AIFMD, UCITS, EMIR,..);
Organizes the Monthly Valuation Committee;
Ensure that answers to auditors are given with respect to deadlines and accurately for internal/external audit of BMI and audit of the funds under management;
Policies: Writing and maintenance of policies for Risk Management, Breach Management, Valuation management;
Procedures: oversees that procedures are in place for all tasks performed by Risk Management team;
Model Risk: monitors adequacy of methodologies in place for risk measurement, ensure proper documentation of model changes (non-regression analysis) and backtesting of models when necessary;
Ensure that all important events/changes are correctly and exhaustively reported to the Funds Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors;
Attend the monthly Executive Committee for the overview and assessment of the key organisational and operational matters of the Company.
Keep abreast of legal/regulatory requirements and fund industry issues.
Master of Science, High School or PhD (fundamental mathematics, statistics, data mining and financial mathematics education)
10+ years of relevant experience as a risk professional in the Fund industry in Luxembourg (preferably coming from AIFM, management company or Big Four with experience in AIFS).
Proven experience in people management.
Analytical skills, financial and business acumen .
Display excellent communication, interpersonal skills .
Being able to gain the confidence of executives and senior management teams.
Strong client-oriented attitude.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English and in French;
