My client is a multi-billion, technology-driven quantitative hedge fund deploying systematic trading strategies across multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, Futures and FX. As a data-driven firm, they have designed and built their systems from scratch, including their high-performance trading platform and large scale data analysis systes.

 

Due to recent success and growth, they are currently looking for an exceptional C++ Software Engineer to join their team which is responsible for the development of data solutions, trading and risk systems and the integration of models and market data into the system.

 

You must have a genuine desire and passion to work with the latest technologies, and be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where there is genuine transparency in your work.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, build, test and release the platform, tools and infrastructure for real-time trading and risk management
  • Work closely with Quants/Traders to define priorities and deliver effective code solutions
  • Build software libraries with emphasis on shared infrastructure used by multiple teams
  • Enhancing, optimizing and refactoring existing systems

 

 

Skills:

  • Technical education should include an Undergraduate or Advanced STEM Degree
  • Experience using C++ on a Linux and Windows platform
  • A good software engineer, who believes in engineering solutions, and recognizes in advance where engineering will pay off versus short cut
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and able to converse with a diverse set of people (Traders, Quants, Trading Assistants, etc)
  • Intellectual curiosity. A strong desire and aptitude to learn and share ideas and knowledge with colleagues

 

Additional skills:

 

  • Practical experience with the CMake build system
  • Experience with building clean library abstractions and APIs targeting Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience working with libraries and utilities for logging, serialization, metrics capture and inter-process communication
  • Experience with Boost, Python or similar C++/Python binding
