The Role
Reporting into the finance team, this Assistant Accountant position will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function while also supporting cash flow management, reconciliations and month-end activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing standalone, end-to-end Accounts Payable
- Entering invoices and maintaining supplier records in Oracle NetSuite
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Managing the Accounts Payable inbox and supplier enquiries
- Processing employee expenses and monthly reimbursements
- Preparing weekly cash balance updates
- Completing weekly bank reconciliations
- Preparing monthly account reconciliations
- Supporting month-end close activities
- Assisting with the transition to a newly implemented OCR system
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Payable position
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience
- Experience preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Exposure to month-end accounting processes
- Oracle NetSuite experience, highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The confidence to manage a standalone AP function
- Availability to commence at short notice
