Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Engineering Lead to join our Corporate Applications team in Warsaw.

You will combine technical leadership with day-to-day engineering: designing solutions, writing and reviewing code, and leading a team of Salesforce and application developers. Working closely with product management and stakeholders across business functions, you will translate complex requirements into secure, maintainable applications that deliver tangible business value.

Alongside core Salesforce development, you will help expand our use of "headless Salesforce"-building custom user interfaces and applications that interact with Salesforce through APIs. You will also help shape how the team uses AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Codex, to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of security, testing and code quality.

Prior experience with headless Salesforce or these specific AI tools is advantageous, but not required. We are looking for strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity and a willingness to learn and apply new approaches.

Key responsibilities

Hands-on engineering and architecture
• Design, build and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components and Flow Builder.
• Own architectural decisions across data models, application design, integrations, access controls and sharing models.
• Configure standard and custom objects, business workflows, reports and dashboards, balancing platform capabilities with custom development.
• Develop integrations and support custom front ends that use Salesforce APIs.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and improve application performance, reliability and maintainability.

Technical leadership and delivery
• Lead and develop a team of Salesforce and application developers, providing technical direction, coaching and regular feedback.
• Remain actively involved in implementation, code reviews and resolving challenging technical problems.
• Partner with product management to shape requirements, evaluate trade-offs and deliver work from design through release and ongoing support.
• Establish and maintain engineering practices covering version control, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation and change management.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing competing priorities and expectations.

AI-assisted development
• Develop practical, repeatable ways to use AI tools across Salesforce and custom application development.
• Build reusable tooling, patterns and guidance that improve the team's development capability and delivery speed.
• Evaluate AI-generated code critically, ensuring it meets security, testing and maintainability standards.

Required skills and experience

Salesforce engineering
• Strong hands-on experience developing complex Salesforce applications with Apex and Lightning Web Components.
• Experience designing Salesforce architecture, including data models, integrations, security and sharing.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration and automation, including Flow Builder, standard and custom objects, reports and dashboards.
• Experience working with APIs and integrating Salesforce with other applications.
• Understanding of Salesforce platform limits, bulk processing and performance considerations.
• Experience with testing, deployment and change management in Salesforce environments.

Engineering and delivery
• Proficiency with Git and experience working with code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions about when to configure, customise or build outside the Salesforce platform.
• Experience working with product managers and business stakeholders to turn requirements into deliverable technical solutions.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar delivery-management tools.

Leadership and collaboration
• Experience leading developers, with responsibility for technical delivery and people development.
• Ability to guide colleagues whose technical specialisms differ from your own.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly.
• Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to collaborate across a global team.
• An adaptable approach and a demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies.

Desirable experience
• Building custom front ends backed by Salesforce APIs.
• JavaScript or TypeScript and React; experience with C# or Python is also valuable.
• Using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or similar.
• Maintaining or modernising Visualforce applications.
• Building analytics or dashboards using Salesforce data beyond native Salesforce reporting.
