Responsibilities

• Provide functional and technical support for GFM applications to ensure stable production operations.
• Support users across Front Office, Back Office, Finance, and FX, including direct engagement with traders during market hours for time-sensitive issues.
• Analyse, own, and resolve production incidents impacting trading or downstream processes; coordinate with cross-functional teams to restore services promptly.
• Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance system reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to test and deploy enhancements, bug fixes, and new features.
• Drive automation of support activities and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Develop monitoring tools and alerts to enable proactive issue detection and auto-healing/recovery mechanisms.
• Provide day-to-day production support for DBS in-house Front Office applications.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including after-hours support and weekend implementations where required.
• Work in shift rotations during support duty weeks and manage escalations from Level 1 teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and knowledge-sharing practices.
• Maintain strong collaboration within the support team and across GFMT teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery to business users.
• Automate recurring tasks to reduce operational toil for both end users and internal teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role supporting mission-critical financial applications.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Computing (Murex GRID).
• Strong understanding of Termsheet generation tools and FX Trading applications (eFXO).
• Practical experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, CloudWatch).
• Experience working with Red Hat OpenShift (Pods, Containers, Clusters).
• Knowledge of Java, Microservices architecture, and Databases (MSSQL, MariaDB & MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Shell scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS services.
• Good understanding of Structured Products and FX products.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ELK (Kibana), Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools: Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins and CA Release Automation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
• Comfortable operating in a Front Office trading environment with time-sensitive deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including traders and operations teams.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability financial systems environment.
• Continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies
