Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Head of Enterprise Data Architecture to define and lead the enterprise-wide data architecture strategy. This role will shape how data is governed, integrated, modeled, secured, and leveraged across P&C, L&H, finance, risk, and corporate functions.
As a senior leader, you will be expected to be a hands-on driver of change, bringing strong data acumen and the ability to dive deeply into the reinsurance domain. You will partner with business executives, technology leadership, data modeling, and governance teams to establish a scalable, secure, and future-ready data architecture that enables strategic priorities, regulatory expectations, and operational efficiency. The role will collaborate closely with the Chief Data Officer organization and domain data modelers to translate business needs into practical, high-quality data architecture outcomes.

The role will collaborate closely with the Chief Data Officer organization and domain data modelers to translate business needs into practical, high-quality data architecture outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the global enterprise data architecture strategy, principles, standards, and roadmap across the organization.
- Lead the design of target-state data architecture, enterprise data model, integration patterns, metadata, master data, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into practical data architecture capabilities and implementation plans.
- Drive alignment across data domains, systems, platforms, and regions to enable consistent, trusted, and reusable enterprise data assets.
- Shape the architecture for unstructured data and its integration with AI platforms by aligning with the AI team on how unstructured data assets are captured, governed, classified, enriched, and made usable for analytics, knowledge discovery, and AI-enabled use cases across the reinsurance value chain.
- Collaborate with the data governance team to establish governance mechanisms to ensure compliance with data privacy, security, regulatory, and risk management requirements in a global financial services environment.
- Guide major transformation programs, including legacy modernization, platform consolidation, data product development, and enterprise analytics enablement.
- Mentor and closely collaborate with domain data modelers in the data foundation unit.
- Influence senior stakeholders and architecture governance forums to promote data architecture best practices and investment priorities.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments relevant to insurance, reinsurance.

- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on data architecture, data strategy, and digital transformation.
- Build strong relationships across global business units, technology teams, risk, compliance, and data governance functions.
- Create clarity, structure, and momentum in complex transformation environments.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and responsible data use
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, data strategy, or senior data technology leadership roles within complex, global organizations.
- Strong understanding of insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures across cloud, hybrid, and legacy technology landscapes.
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, data integration, master data management, data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks and Palantir Foundry, lake house architectures, integration approaches, BI platforms, and analytics tooling.
- Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements, including cross-border data considerations.
Required experience & competencies
- Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, data strategy, or senior data technology leadership roles within complex, global organizations.
- Strong understanding of insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures across cloud, hybrid, and legacy technology landscapes.
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, data integration, master data management, data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks and Palantir Foundry, lake house architectures, integration approaches, BI platforms, and analytics tooling.
- Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements, including cross-border data considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive architecture decisions across business, technology, and governance forums.
- Successful track record leading architecture and data teams and developing talent.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and change leadership skills.
Preferred skills :
- Experience in reinsurance domains such as underwriting, pricing, claims, reserving, catastrophe modeling, actuarial analytics, risk management, or capital modeling.
- Familiarity with regulatory and reporting expectations affecting global insurers and reinsurers.
- Experience enabling AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and data product operating models.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and architecture governance practices.
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, data architecture, enterprise architecture, or data governance are advantageous.
Required Education
- Master's degree in Computer Science
