Data Analytics Governance Analyst

London | Hybrid (2-3 Days Onsite) | Investment Bank | Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading international investment bank as an Data Governance Analyst within its rapidly expanding EMEA Data Office .

This is a greenfield opportunity to play a key role in establishing the bank's Analytics

Governance capability, supporting a major multi-year regulatory transformation programme focused on BCBS239 compliance and future ECB onboarding . You'll work across the organisation to define governance standards, improve controls around analytics and reporting, and help shape how data is governed across the business.

This is a highly visible position with exposure to senior stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Operations and Technology, offering the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide governance practices.

The Role

As part of the EMEA Data Office, you will:

1. Help establish and embed the bank's Analytics Governance framework.
2. Identify, catalogue and govern Key Data Uses (KDUs) and End User Computing (EUC) tools across the organisation.
3. Conduct governance assessments and gap analysis against internal policies and BCBS239 requirements.
4. Agree remediation plans with business owners and track delivery through to completion.
5. Maintain governance inventories and metadata using tools such as Collibra and/or Apparity.
6. Champion governance standards and promote best practice across business functions.
7. Deliver governance reporting, project updates and management information.
8. Work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Technology, Operations and the wider Data Office.
9. Support the ongoing development of enterprise data governance capabilities.

About You

We're looking for someone who has experience within Data Governance, Analytics Governance or EUC Governance in a financial services environment and enjoys working across both business and technology teams.

You'll ideally have experience with:

1. Analytics Governance or Enterprise Data Governance.
2. BCBS239 or regulatory data governance programmes.
3. End User Computing (EUC) Governance.
4. Data cataloguing and metadata management.
5. Collibra and/or Apparity.
6. Governance frameworks, policies and controls.
7. Data Quality, Data Lineage or Enterprise Data Management.
8. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence at all levels.
9. Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
10. SDLC knowledge relating to analytics and reporting.

Desirable:

1. Power BI and/or Tableau.
2. Experience supporting enterprise self-service analytics.
3. Knowledge of ECB or wider banking regulatory requirements.
