Octavius Finance is working with a leading hedge fund building a new market-neutral, quantamental equity platform.

They are looking for a Quantitative Developer to join the team and take ownership of the development, reliability and scalability of the platform underpinning the firm's quantitative research.

This is not a pure software engineering or pure quant research role. You will sit at the intersection of quant research, data engineering and software development, using technology to solve research problems and turn ideas into robust production systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build and develop the firm's quantitative research and production platform.
2. Work extensively with large datasets, including cleaning, validation and transformation.
3. Develop robust, reusable Python libraries, data pipelines and research tooling.
4. Take ownership of the full production lifecycle: coding, testing, deployment, monitoring and QA.
5. Monitor production systems and respond to issues to ensure minimal downtime.
6. Work closely with the quant research team to develop and test investment ideas and signals.
7. Support backtesting and simulation of medium-frequency strategies.
8. Help establish the technology infrastructure as the platform scales.

What We're Looking For

1. 2+ years' relevant experience in quant development, data engineering, quantitative research or a similar role.
2. Highly proficient in Python, with experience writing substantial production-quality code.
3. Proven experience working with large datasets and building data-driven systems.
4. Experience owning software through deployment, monitoring and ongoing production support.
5. Strong software engineering fundamentals and a genuine understanding of quantitative research.
6. Someone who understands the importance of system reliability and data quality in a live investment environment.
7. Backtesting experience is desirable.
8. Experience with Kubernetes, GitHub/CI-CD or cloud infrastructure is advantageous.

The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, highly accountable and comfortable operating in an environment where they are expected to build, own and improve critical technology from the ground up.
