Search firm Tallis opens New York office

Edward Clark, the managing partner, said: &quotWe are not put off by market conditions. The cycle changes eventually. We are a small firm, we do not have a big cost base and when an opportunity comes along we are able to grasp it.&quot

The firm has appointed Robert Dix to head its New York operations. Dix has in the past worked as a banker for Chase Manhattan and as a headhunter for Russell Reynolds.

Clark founded the Tallis Group in 1994. It currently has two offices in London, one in the City and one in the West End.
