Job Title: Hedge Fund Operations Manager

Overview

ProMeritum Investment Management LLP is a London-based alternative investment manager operating within a multi-regulated environment, including FCA, SEC, CIMA and CFTC frameworks, that specialises in high-conviction macro and credit strategies within Emerging Markets. We currently manage $1.2bn of assets across a globally diverse and institutional investor base.We focus on sovereign credit, FX, and interest rate opportunities to deliver exceptional risk-adjusted returns and liquidity, and have not experienced a negative year since inception in 2015.

The firm is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to support the continued growth of the business and increasing operational complexity across multiple investment vehicles and ongoing platform expansion initiatives.

The role will combine day-to-day operational responsibilities with involvement in operational enhancement initiatives, onboarding projects and systems/process improvement work. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and external counterparties within a lean, entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

1. Support the day-to-day operational oversight of multiple investment vehicles
2. Assist with trade lifecycle management, reconciliations and operational monitoring process enhancements
3. Liaise with prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians and other service providers
4. Maintain operational documentation and procedures where required

Projects & Operational Change

1. Support operational enhancement initiatives across the business
2. Assist with onboarding new counterparties, accounts and service providers
3. Coordinate operational workstreams relating to platform expansion initiatives
4. Support workflow improvements and operational scalability initiatives
5. Participate in implementation and enhancement projects involving OMS/PMS and operational systems
6. Assist with vendor evaluations, testing and implementation activity where required
7. Help ensure operational projects continue progressing alongside BAU operational activity

Systems & Process Improvement

1. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and reduce manual workflows
2. Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver operational enhancements
3. Support operational integrations, testing and process documentation
4. Assist with implementation of practical automation and workflow improvements where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

1. Approximately 5–7 years’ experience within investment operations, middle office or fund operations
2. Buy side experience preferred
3. Strong understanding of hedge fund operations and investment lifecycle processes
4. Exposure to operational projects, systems enhancements or workflow improvement initiatives
5. Experience working within lean or entrepreneurial environments preferred
6. Strong ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently
7. Proactive and solutions-oriented approach
8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
9. Technology and systems-oriented mindset with an interest in operational enhancement
10. Exposure to OMS/PMS platforms advantageous
11. Python, SQL or automation exposure beneficial but not essential
